Create a Messenger Menu so users interacting on Messenger can easily access the most important information for you brand! Your Messenger Menu will be easily accessible on Mobile or Desktop using the hamburger menu. Take a look:

The Main Menu

The main menu can have up to 3 top-level menu items. Each top-level item allows a user click to trigger one of the following actions: 

  • Open a Sub Menu

  • Open a website URL 

  • Trigger a message

The Sub Menu

A sub-menu can have 5 sub menu items. There are two levels of sub-menus. The first level of a sub menu allows a user click to trigger one of the following actions:

  • Open a Sub Menu

  • Open a website URL 

  • Trigger a message

The second level of a sub menu allows a user click to trigger one of the following actions:

  • Open a website URL 

  • Trigger a message. 

To start building your own Messenger Menu, click on the Messenger Menu icon on your ShopMessage dashboard. You'll begin editing in the Menu tab

Turn your Messenger Menu on and off using the Enable button.

Recommendations

You'll notice we have built out three recommendations for you, add up to three of our recommendations using the Add button. These recommendations have both main menu and sub menu items associated with them to help you quickly build a robust menu.

Open a Sub Menu

Opening a sub menu reveals a second level of menu options to allow a user to navigate to additional options.

To open a sub-menu from a main menu or sub-menu item, click on the item and select Open a Sub-Menu and then click on Add Sub-Menu Item.

Opening a sub menu reveals a second level of menu options to allow a user to navigate to additional options. Click Add Sub-Menu and then fill out the Sub-Menu Name. Then Choose whether you would like to open a Sub Menu, open a website URL or trigger a message. 

Open a website URL 

You can choose to open a website URL from a main or sub-menu item. After you've named your item click on Open a website URL. Then in the Website URL to Open field enter the URL that you would like that menu item to open. 

Note: Add UTM parameters to track button clicks! 

Trigger a message

To trigger an immediate automated message from an item select the Trigger a Message option and the click Create new Message. 

From here you'll be taken to our message editor (learn how to use the editor here!). Draft your message and then click on continue.

You'll then return to your Messenger Menu editor to finish your Menu!
